The Fête de la musique was born in France
The Fête de la musique is held every year on June 21. This day is also usually the first day of summer and the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Today, this holiday is celebrated in about 100 countries.
However, it is in France that it was invented. It took place for the first time in 1982. The idea came from Jack Lang, the Minister of Culture at the time. Every year, musicians set up in the streets, bars, parks, squares, train stations... and play music. You can hear all styles of music until late at night.
This festival allows the discovery of new or little known artists.
