Hello everyone, I hope you are well and ready to learn a new expression in French.
Today, we're going to look at the expression "it's not going to happen overnight".
Tomorrow is the day after. And the day before is the day before that.
So, what does it mean that it's not tomorrow?
This expression, in fact, it means that something is not about to happen. Something may happen, but in a very long time.
So, it's not going to happen anytime soon. It's something, in fact, that looks like it's never going to happen.
I'm going to give you some context because that phrase is a little bit... It's a little bit complicated.
It will help you to understand better and you will be able to use it in sentences. Here is a first example
Clara and Pierre separated a year ago and Pierre still cries every day. It's not tomorrow that he will forget her.
It's not going to happen.
And here is a second context.
I'm not going to be able to take a vacation anytime soon. I have so much work, I work every day until 10pm and I start at 7am. I have no idea when I'll be able to take a vacation. I'm not going to be able to take a break anytime soon.
That's it for the expression it's not tomorrow. I hope you liked it and that you will be able to use it too.
I say to you very soon to spend a very beautiful day.
